Fellowship Opportunities

If you know a college student who will be attending a college in the St. Cloud area this year, we would like to know.  Please provide their name, address, and/or phone number to the church office or to Mark Giese at 251-8277.

Chancel Choir rehearsals will begin Wednesday, September 1, at 7:30 p.m. For this first rehearsal of the season, we extend a special invitation to all singers who have had high school choir, college choir and/or previous church choir experience. Join us as we begin special preparation for the worship service to be held Saturday, September 18, in conjunction with the Presbytery meeting hosted by FPC. For more information, contact Bruce Grosland or the church office.

Crusade Choir will begin rehearsals on Wednesday, September 8 at 6:15 p.m. in the Campbell Room.

The September Deacons Meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 7 at 7:00 p.m.

The 4th Annual Blessing of the Bikes will be held September 19, 2010 following the service. All are welcome to ride! Meet in the fellowship hall after the service. We will go out for lunch as a part of the trip. Any questions, call Scott or Lyn Varner. 251-4802.

Nomination for Church Officers - If you feel called to use your talents as an Elder or a Deaon, please let us know. The Deacons focus on the needs of the membership and the Elders on administrative and property issues. You may also nominate those individuals whose talents will match these needs. Contact the church office at admasst@fpcstcloud.org to submit your name or to make a nomination. You may also contact a member of the nominating committee: Jeanne Duininck, Karen Ondracek (Elders); Phyllis Feia (Deacon), Wayne Halena, Bev Jacobs, Ken Smith, and Kristen Baas.

Potluck Planning meeting for Chancel Ringers is planned for Tuesday, September 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Marsha Ziebarth. The choir is looking for ringers for the 2010-2011 year. Even if you don't know that much about reading music, training is available. Anyone is welcome!  If you plan on being part of the handbell choir and plan to attend the potluck, please call the church office at 251-8277.  Knowing the number of people in the choir will aid in choosing music and in making further plans for the year. We look forward to hearing from last year’s ringers, past ringers, and those who have not yet rung.

Nurture for Families of All Shapes and Sizes -  This online resource was developed "especially for busy parents and caregivers, or others who play an important role in kids' lives. It's full of fun, faith-building ideas, articles, and devotions to use at home." Check it out at www.nurturekidsfaith.org.

Mission Trip, Eastern Kentucky, October 3-9, 2010A mission trip is being organized through Hand in Hand Ministries, Louisville KY, to serve residents in some of the poorest counties in the United States. Volunteers will help with computer skills, sewing and craft skills, food pantry, and home repair. Our four members who served on a PDA work team in the New Orleans area in 2008 are planning to participate in this trip, along with members of First Presbyterian Church in Lake Crystal MN. For more information, contact the church office.

Daily Devotional - In addition to the daily lectionary reading available on the home page, we have added a link to a daily devotional from D365. This is especially geared toward youth, but would be ideal for anyone seeking to jumpstart their day with scripture reading, reflection, and prayer, accompanied by background music.

ITEBA - read the September 2009 newsletter to learn about the exciting work being done in Brazil. Our church has been very supportive of this mission.

Prayer Call Vine - If you do not have access to a computer or email but would like to be a part of the revitalized Prayer Vine ministry, please call the church office. If you would like to be the initial contact person or perhaps the back-up contact, please let us know.
